Thomas Goldring
Thomas Goldring is the Director of Research at the Georgia Policy Labs (GPL), housed within the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Thomas oversees GPL’s extensive research portfolio, which includes evaluations of K-12 education policies, higher education pathways, career and technical education, and early childhood care initiatives. He works closely with GPL’s long-term partners—state agencies, school districts, and non-profit organizations—to ensure the Labs’ research is both relevant and actionable. Thomas also mentors GPL’s graduate students, supporting their development as future policy researchers. From October 2023 to August 2024, Thomas served as Interim Senior Director of GPL. During this time, he guided the organization’s research efforts and helped secure external funding to sustain and expand its projects. Prior to joining GPL, Thomas completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
