Brooke Amos
Brooke started her career in education as a middle school mathematics teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has spent the last two decades in various roles across the human capital continuum – working for Teach For America, TNTP, and DC Public Schools. At DC Public Schools, she managed the district’s instructional talent acquisition and retention team – leading to significant increases in application numbers, diverse applicant pools, and filled positions. Brooke currently serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Human Capital at the Tennessee Department of Education. As a Nashville native, she proudly leads the department’s educator effectiveness, licensure, and preparation teams. Since joining TDOE, the division has reduced licensure transaction processing time by 75% and expanded educator pipelines. Brooke holds a BA in English literature from Mercer University and an Ed.M. in education policy and management from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. She is an avid reader and always wants to know what you are currently reading.
