As Acting Director of Educator Effectiveness for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, Claire Abbott oversees state policy and resource development in support of educator preparation and licensure, supervision and evaluation, induction and mentoring, and professional learning. Since joining the Department in 2012, Claire has managed the roll-out and evaluation of statewide educator evaluation implementation, developed calibration training programs for both preparation and K-12 practitioners, overseen the development and refinement of model rubrics for education evaluation, and led multi-year program evaluation initiatives to assess the impact of policies and initiatives on educators and students in Massachusetts. Claire lives in Arlington with her husband and three children.
